Martin is a Managing Partner of Conexus heading its European office, drawing from more than 25 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, interim management and strategy work. He has come to specialize in active management roles for large industrial holding companies and family offices, with considerable experience in service, education and IT businesses, mining and construction, aviation and a variety of manufacturing industries including life sciences. Martin was responsible both as a principal and as an advisor for numerous transactions worldwide.
 
Prior to joining Conexus in 2009, Martin was Managing Director of ATON GmbH, a German family office with more than 1 billion euro in assets under management. Martin has also been Managing Director of Lufthansa Commercial Holding GmbH, a broadly diversified group holding company, and CFO of Duesseldorf Airport. Previously, he was heading Corporate Finance and M&A at Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, a large German family conglomerate.
 
Martin studied Business Administration and Economics in Germany, with extensive research stays in Europe, the USA and Japan. He received a PhD in Economics from the University of Cologne, Germany, where he was Assistant Professor at the Department of Auditing and Accounting.
